Swish Wish Annual Sporting Equipment Drive
May 12–16, 2025 | The Buckley School
Got gently used or new sporting gear collecting dust?
Put it to good use by donating to the Swish Wish Sporting Equipment Drive at The Buckley School, happening from May 12 to May 16!
We’re collecting all types of new or gently used sports equipment like basketballs, soccer balls, cleats, rackets, gloves, jerseys, and more to support kids and youth programs in need.
Where Your Donations Go:
Your gear will be delivered to amazing organizations doing incredible work:
• City of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation – supporting local community centers and youth leagues
• LAPD Devonshire PALS – mentoring at-risk youth through sports and leadership
• Casa de Gracia (Ensenada, Mexico) – giving joy and equipment to underserved children
• Second Serve – redistributing sports gear to kids globally
How to Donate:
Drop-off boxes will be available in front of the Lower School and Upper School buildings during the drive. Just place your clean, gently used or new equipment in the boxes, we’ll take care of the rest!

Wish Relay Project:
Casa de Gracia, Mexico | May 17, 2025
Our First Step in a Global Journey of Giving
Swish Wish is thrilled to announce our very first Wish Relay Project, launching on May 17, 2025, at Casa de Gracia, a small church serving children in a remote and underserved village near Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
This milestone event brings together basketball, kindness, and community in a way that reflects everything Swish Wish stands for.
What We’re Doing
With the support of a dedicated Korean American missionary working at Casa de Gracia, our Swish Wish team will:
• Donate brand new basketballs
• Install outdoor basketball hoops
• Lead a joyful basketball clinic
• Play games and share quality time with the children
• Deliver goodie bags filled with fun and essentials
• Enjoy a pizza lunch, the kids’ favorite treat!
For many of the children, this will be their first experience with official basketball equipment and organized play and we’re honored to make that moment special.
Why It Matters
Casa de Gracia is located in an area with few resources and limited access to safe recreational spaces. Yet the children there are full of energy, potential, and heart. Our goal is simple: bring joy and encouragement through basketball.
By showing up and sharing even the basics like a ball, a hoop, or a slice of pizza, we remind every child that they are seen, loved, and capable of big dreams.
Our First Relay, Not Our Last
This project is just the beginning of our Wish Relay journey, a global outreach initiative powered by the belief that sports can build bridges and change lives.
